Know Jesus, follow Him, and lead others to do the same

At Our City Church, we believe God has planted us in our city to be a light in the midst of spiritual darkness. Jesus said, “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14). This is the message we have heard from Him and declare to you: God is light, and there is absolutely no darkness in Him (1 John 1:5).

Over 60% of people in Jefferson County have no connection to any faith, and fewer than 10% regularly attend a Gospel-preaching church. Many of our neighbors are living without the hope, peace, and purpose that comes from knowing Jesus (Ephesians 2:12-13). That’s why Our City Church exists: to make disciples who follow Jesus, abide in His Word, pray continually, proclaim the Gospel, serve intentionally, and to multiply.

The church isn’t a building, it’s God’s people, the church, called out to live on mission together (1 Peter 2:9-10). In the New Testament, the church is a vibrant, multiplying community sent to proclaim Jesus (Acts 1:8; Acts 9:31). That’s why Our City Church exists:

To make disciples who follow Jesus, abide in His Word, pray continually, proclaim the Gospel, serve intentionally, and multiply.

We’re here to punch holes in the darkness (John 1:5), bring hope to the hopeless (Romans 15:13), and boldly proclaim the whole counsel of God (Acts 20:27).
